In the Giardino delle Vergini at the Arsenale, a building that seems to ruin contains a veritable Wunderkammer. It houses objects, books, photos and “creative fetishes” belonging to thirty-five architects scattered all over the world. A box was sent to each studio, and then was asked them to send it back with the “improbable, but sometimes trivial too, objects, ” from which to draw inspiration for their work.
The concept of ligthing project is the dematerialization of light in favor of the visitor’s experience in space and time. The exhibition space and cardboard boxes exhibited in their essence are perceived through the variability of light.
The project involves the lighting of the entire area through an indirect light that spreads from the ceiling truss, illuminated by120 lines LEDs positioned on the ceiling beams which act as supports and interact with the light setting. The light in fact, thanks to a sophisticated dimming system (by dmx controller and – on demand – IR remote controller), simulates on the roof the performance of natural light creating different lighting moods: in a few minutes you can enjoy a wide range of lighting sets that vary softly and continuously creating the rythm of the sun. This lighting atmosphere enhances the boxes exposed as it allows the visitor to discover in time their content and messages coming from different parts of the world.
