The lighting of the hotel’s facade is designed to support the existing complex and formally present architecture. The lighting of the facade is designed to give focused attention to the string courses which together with the in itself already illuminated glass could give a ‘lantern effect’ to the building. The lighting of the stringcourses is done by linear RGB LED devices that allow multiple sets of light, both in colours and in different shades of white. The silhouette of the central glass is enhanced with luminous rings placed at a regular interval that mark the ascent to the summit. Combined with a RGB spot light at the zero plane directed upwards producing powerful beams of light that animate the space in the middle. Many effects can be obtained by combining the two effects of light, playing on strong colour contrasts between the two wings and the central element to achieve effects such as stripes, gradients or even pixelation.
On the secondary facade the same effect of RGB stringcourse is maintained, although the presence of the rooms suggests maintaining a light with neutral shades of white. Within each balcony ceiling washing will be used to form a backlight effect creating a diffused light for each living area. The red wing element on the secondary facade will be illuminated with linear LED devices along its entire length, which will make a formal and strong light statement in the night.
As for the roof garden, the proposed illumination is achieved with linear RGB LEDs for wall washing of the glass walls and path directors on the floor combined with recessed marker lights on the ground, those together form bright and decorative elements in the space.
